How much water do we need

When the weather is good, and it has been good I get the questions how much water you should drink, can you drink too much and should I have more salt.

So, I thought I’d put a little information together.

How do we really know ‘what’s enough’ when it comes to salt and drinking water?

It’s something I get asked and to be accurate in response it really does depend on you!

Sex
Weight
Health
Exercise levels
Fluid intake
Food intake
Daily demands placed on the body.

With that said there are a couple of pointers to really help…

A general guideline to requirements and calculate your water needs.

 Use the formula-

Bodyweight (Kg) x 0.033 = litres per day

 At 60 kg (60×0.033=1.9) = 1.9 litres

At 70 Kg (70×0.033=2.3) = 2.3 litres

However, drinking lots of water doesn’t mean you are absorbing the water and you could still be poorly hydrated!
